Panglao Rescue Diver Course - What you'll learn

A rescue diving course is one of the most intense and rewarding programs a scuba diver can take, pushing you to become more aware, confident, and capable in the water. It builds a strong foundation in emergency response, self-rescue, and assisting other divers, while sharpening your awareness and problem-solving under pressure. With guidance from our experienced instructors, you'll develop the skills needed to prevent and manage diving incidents, making you a safer, more responsible buddy and a stronger diver overall.

Self-Rescue Skills - the Foundation of the Recue Course:

Before helping others, a diver must be able to stay calm, troubleshoot issues, and take care of themselves underwater. This part of the course focuses on developing confidence through practical skills like mask removal, regulator recovery, cramp release, and controlled ascents—ensuring you’re never a hazard to yourself or your dive team.

Buddy Rescue Skills - Become the Diver Everyone Wants to Dive With:

Buddy Rescue builds on your self-rescue skills and teaches you how to recognize and respond to problems your dive partner may face. You’ll learn to assist a stressed or panicked diver, perform safe approaches, and apply techniques to calm, support, and bring your buddy safely to the surface—all while keeping control of the situation.

Unconscious Diver - How to Deal with the Worst

Unconscious Diver training prepares you for one of the most serious scenarios a diver can face. You’ll learn how to locate, safely bring up, and tow an unconscious diver while maintaining an open airway and calling for help. This part of the course focuses on calm execution, clear thinking, and mastering the six anchor points of a full rescue response.

Panglao Scuba Diving Rescue Course - Good to Know:

So if you want to become an asset in any dive rather than a liability in any dive, keep yourself safe, and be able to help your buddies in a wide range of stress situations and other emergencies, don't hesitate to contact us via the chat widget or the inquiry form, and schedule your course right away!

It's important to know that the rescue course is one of the requisites of the divemaster course. There's no necessary number of dives required to start the rescue, however, we highly recommend that a diver at least take an advanced open water course beforehand to gain valuable experience in buoyancy and in diving in different environments.

Also, one of the rescue course prerequisites is an FRTI certificate (First Response International Training), or an equivalent certificate (EFR or other recognized certifications). Don't worry if you don't have any, we also provide FRTI courses (please check our diving courses page for the pricing), which take around 3 hours and can easily be added to your rescue course schedule.
