Panglao’s dive sites are spread across four main areas: the south side, the north, Balicasag Island, and Pamilacan Island. Although Pamilacan technically belongs to Baclayon, all dive trips there start from Panglao. Each area has its own vibe and is worth exploring on its own day, rather than trying to squeeze in too much at once.
Down south, in the areas of Alona, Danao, and Libaong, you’ll find some of the most popular sites like Danao Wall, Kalipayan with its sardine clouds, and the sandy slopes of PPB. Arco Point has a fun little swim-through, and BBC offers a small wreck sitting in shallow, easy conditions—perfect for a second dive.
The northern side has its own charm, with sites like Doljo Point, Momo Beach, and Napaling. Doljo is known for its big sea fans along a deep wall, Momo offers calm coral gardens, and Napaling is famous for its sardine run along the drop-off. These sites are a bit more peaceful and great for laid-back, scenic dives. For more information about Doljo diving trips, click on our designated page.
Balicasag Island is a day trip in itself, with five dive sites packed around the island. It’s a protected marine area, so expect steep walls, healthy reefs, and big schools of jackfish and barracuda. Turtles are almost guaranteed here, and visibility is usually excellent.
Pamilacan, being the farthest, also calls for a full dive trip with two dives. It’s less busy than Balicasag and has three sites—Dakit-Dakit, Spanish Tower, and Sanctuary. The topography ranges from soft coral slopes to deeper walls, with rich marine life like pipefish, nudibranchs, turtles, and sometimes even sea snakes. Check out our Pamilacan Island Diving trips in the link.

How to get to Panglao dive Sites
All dive sites around Panglao are accessible from our dive school. Some are just a short ride away, while others take a bit more time to reach. The northern and southern sites are considered local dives—they’re usually reached by land transport followed by a quick speedboat ride, making them easy and convenient for day-to-day diving. You can book our local dives through the booking element at the top of the page, or contact us via the chat or inquiry form if you want to ask about different dates.
For sites farther offshore, we offer boat trips to Balicasag and Pamilacan Islands. These are half-day excursions, typically including two dives. Balicasag is about 30 minutes away by boat, while Pamilacan takes closer to an hour. Both destinations are well worth the trip, offering spectacular underwater experiences in more remote and protected marine environments.
You can visit our Pamilacan Diving Trips page for bookings or to learn more. For Balicasag, please note that entry requires advance ticket purchasing. Since daily permits are limited to 150 divers, we recommend contacting us as early as possible to check availability. We’ll do our best to open a schedule just for you when possible.
