Pamilacan Diving Trips
Untouched beauty. World-class diving. Just off Panglao.
Pamilacan Island is a hidden gem among Bohol’s underwater experiences. Just 40 minutes by boat from Alona Beach, Pamilacan offers some of the most diverse and rewarding dives in the region, without the crowds often found in Balicasag. Whether you're drawn to rare macro life, massive coral gardens, or the thrill of drift diving alongside turtles and barracuda, scuba diving in Pamilacan is an unforgettable experience for certified divers.
Pamilacan Island has three dive sites: Dakit Dakit, Spanish Tower, and the Sanctuary. Our dive trips to Pamilacan usually include two dives, but sometimes include all three dive sites. These sites are distinctively different than each other, and you can expect the following in each:
Dakit Dakit
Located on the southeast tip of Pamilacan, Dakit-Dakit features a deep sandy slope, lush coral formations, and a dramatic wall starting at 25 meters. Expect drift dives with vibrant reef fish, turtles, schools of barracuda, jackfish, and plenty of macro life hidden among soft corals.
Spanish Tower
Situated near a historic 200-year-old watchtower, this site offers a gentle slope with striking coral gardens and scattered boulders. Ideal for both diving and snorkeling, it’s home to turtles, octopus, cuttlefish, bluefin trevally, nudibranchs, and other colorful reef species.
Sanctuary
Located near a protected no-diving zone, Sanctuary features a vibrant shallow coral area that leads into a steep slope rich in macro life. Expect to spot frogfish, pipefish, nudibranchs, garden eels, moray eels, and trumpetfish as you drift toward the blue for your safety stop.

Pamilacan or Balicasag - which is Better?
Both Pamilacan and Balicasag offer unforgettable diving experiences just a short boat ride from Panglao—but each has its own unique vibe. Balicasag is famous for its dramatic drop-offs, large resident turtles, and swirling schools of jackfish and barracuda. It's ideal for all levels, from freshly certified divers to seasoned pros.
Pamilacan, on the other hand, offers a slightly more adventurous dive. With stronger currents and rich macro life, it's a favorite for experienced divers and underwater photographers. Expect vibrant coral gardens, occasional drift dives, and the chance to spot rare critters and pelagics alike.
